Thunder Star Jalen Williams Set for Game 1 Return
OKC Thunder standout Jalen Williams is poised to return for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs at 7:30 p.m. CT on Monday.
Williams has been unavailable since April 22 due to a Grade 1 hamstring strain, missing the entire second-round series where OKC swept the Los Angeles Lakers.
The team’s success allowed Williams additional recovery time, as he returns after a 25-day hiatus. Typically, recovery from a Grade 1 hamstring strain takes 1-3 weeks.
His return strengthens OKC’s lineup against San Antonio, a team they faced five times during the regular season, with the Spurs winning four matchups. Williams brings skills as a shot creator, playmaker, rebounder, and versatile defender to the playoffs.
As Williams rejoins the squad, it is expected that Ajay Mitchell will move back to the bench. Mitchell had a strong impact as a starter, averaging 22.5 points, six assists, and 1.8 steals during the Lakers series.
The upcoming match against the Spurs is highly anticipated as fans look forward to seeing a complete Thunder team back on the floor.
