Manchester United aims to focus on acquiring a striker and a goalkeeper for the upcoming season, with ongoing discussions regarding potential signing of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
The club at Old Trafford made a single first-team acquisition during the January transfer window, bringing in Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, marking the initial signing of Ruben Amorim’s managerial period.
This summer, the United management is prepared to support Amorim financially to comprehensively revamp a squad that has repeatedly underperformed in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are keen to enhance their attacking capabilities, following a disappointing season for Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, who have only combined for 15 goals across all competitions.
United are reportedly among the top contenders to finalize a deal for Liam Delap, a 22-year-old who could be acquired for approximately £30 million if Ipswich secures a quick return to the Championship.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has maintained regular contact with Sesko’s agent after the Slovenian opted against a move to Old Trafford in 2022.

It is believed that United could come to terms with RB Leipzig for Sesko with an offer around £60 million, though they may face competition from other Premier League clubs for the highly-rated 21-year-old.
Sesko, who has represented Slovenia 41 times, is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in European football. He has scored 20 goals in 41 appearances for RB Leipzig this season, as the club holds a fourth-place position in the Bundesliga.
His contract with RB Leipzig is due to last until the summer of 2029, and his agent Elvis Basanovic recently commented on the speculation linking Sesko with Arsenal, highlighting the player’s potential to fit in well within the Premier League due to his versatility.
Basanovic indicated that Sesko’s decision to turn down a lucrative offer last summer was a wise choice, as he aims to cultivate his skills further before making a significant move.
