Coaching Staff Changes for 2025-26 Season
The Bradley Braves are set for a new look as they welcome four assistant coaches to the team for the upcoming 2025-26 season. These new additions will join head coach Brian Wardle, who has successfully guided the Braves to three consecutive postseason appearances and recorded the team’s highest single-season win total since 1984-85. Last season, the Braves achieved the best three-point shooting percentage in the nation and were also ranked in the top 25 for field goal percentage defense.
Allan Hanson Joins as Assistant Coach
Allan Hanson comes to the Braves after four seasons at Southern Utah University, where he was an assistant coach. Under his tenure, the Thunderbirds amassed 69 wins, including two seasons with over 23 victories, and participated in postseason tournaments in both 2021–22 and 2022–23. Prior to Southern Utah, he held an assistant coaching role at Western Illinois and led Nicolet High School to a state championship in 2019, compiling a remarkable record of 117-37 over three seasons. Hanson also has experience at UW-Milwaukee, where he played and contributed to two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Bobby Suarez: A Seasoned Coach
Bobby Suarez joins the Bradley coaching staff after a successful four-year stint with the Portland Pilots, initially as an assistant and later promoted to associate head coach. During his time at Portland, the team achieved its fourth-highest win total since joining Division I. Previously, Suarez spent four years at Eastern Washington, where he assisted in winning the Big Sky regular-season title and the conference tournament. His coaching career began at Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was part of the team that made a Sweet 16 run in the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
Brian Jones: Veteran Presence
Brian Jones brings a wealth of experience to the Braves, having coached for 27 years. He was previously with Brooks Savage at Eastern Tennessee and has an extensive background with Bradley, leading the team to a Missouri Valley Conference title in 2022–23. Jones has also coached at Illinois State and North Dakota, where he garnered multiple conference championships and was named the 2017 Big Sky and NABC Coach of the Year. His leadership has shaped numerous standout players during his tenure.
Kamrein Street: New Director of Basketball Operations
Kamrein Street has taken on the role of Director of Basketball Operations for the Braves after serving as an assistant coach at Western Illinois, where he helped the team double its win totals within a season. He positioned the program to achieve historic victories against rival schools and previously worked as a Graduate Assistant at Western Illinois. Street also coached at South Suburban College, where the team had an impressive 28-4 record during his tenure.
A Focus on Development
These coaching additions reflect Bradley’s commitment to fostering a winning culture and developing talent. With experienced coaches like Hanson, Suarez, Jones, and Street, the Braves aim to build on their recent successes and create a competitive edge for the upcoming season.
