SPOILER ALERT: The following reveals major plot points from CBS‘ The Equalizer series finale.
In a surprise announcement, CBS has confirmed that the series featuring Queen Latifah will not continue for a sixth season. The latest episode, titled “Decisions,” initially intended as the Season 5 finale, will now serve as the series finale.
With uncertainty hovering over the show, the cast and crew crafted a closure that provided a fitting end. The one-hour episode was filled with tension as Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) and her love interest, Marcus Dante (Tory Kittles), found themselves in perilous situations.
As the story unfolds, Robyn and Dante attempt to escape the chaos of their lives by retreating to a cabin in the Poconos for some romantic time together. However, their getaway is interrupted when they realize they may be tracked by enemies.
While their romantic moment is disrupted by curious neighbors, trouble brews as Harry Keshegian (Adam Goldberg) uncovers that the antagonist of the episode, Angel Salazar (Juan Javier Cardenas), is indeed hunting them. Despite attempts to warn them, the friends struggle with poor cell service.
Tensions escalate when Salazar’s crew ambushes the couple at their cabin. As Robyn tries to protect Dante, she finds herself in a deadly confrontation, ultimately leading to an intense knife fight with Salazar. In a dramatic turn, she returns to a wounded Dante, who manages to propose before collapsing.
Thankfully, Dante survives the operation, leading to a heartfelt engagement. In a final twist of fate, Delilah reveals that she might still have a chance at joining Howard University, while Aunt Vi reconsiders her relationship with Captain Curtis Martin. All ends on a hopeful note with an intimate engagement celebration.
