BREAKING …. Caught in the fallout from ongoing multi-million dollar lawsuits involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, which include allegations of sexual harassment and an online smear campaign, Taylor Swift has successfully shed a troublesome subpoena.
In a surprising decision, the star and director of It Ends With Us has retracted the request for information from Swift, aimed at uncovering her knowledge regarding the events between Lively and Wayfarer Studios co-founder Baldoni related to the film focused on domestic violence. Reports suggest the summons was rescinded after certain details sought by Baldoni’s team were disclosed.
Despite the withdrawal of the high-profile subpoena against Swift, representatives for Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and their publicists did not respond to requests for comment on Thursday, while Swift’s team simply stated, “no comment.”
Swift has a long-standing friendship with Lively and is the godmother to one of her children with Ryan Reynolds. Even prior to emerging allegations against her due to the served subpoena on May 14, Swift has been linked to various legal disputes ever since Lively filed her complaint on sexual harassment and retaliation in December 2024.
While Baldoni’s team remained silent, Lively’s representatives had clear statements to make. “We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer parties have retracted their inappropriate subpoenas aimed at Taylor Swift and her counsel,” a spokesperson expressed to Deadline. They further supported Swift’s team in quashing the subpoenas, emphasizing a commitment to protect any third party facing unjust harassment.
Lively’s spokesperson added that Baldoni’s team had attempted to place Swift, an inspiration to millions, at the center of the case from the start. They criticized Baldoni’s strategy, claiming that the plan relied on exploiting Swift’s celebrity, and asserted, “At some point they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing.”
With a court date set for March 9, 2026, and no settlement in sight, the case has escalated amidst accusations of witness tampering and evidence spoliation between Lively’s and Baldoni’s teams. As the legal battle unfolds, the mention of Swift is unlikely to be the last amidst a complex $400 million lawsuit involving multiple parties.
