After appearing in four national TV games last year, the Pistons are set to make their second appearance on national television this year, and it’s still before Thanksgiving.
The injury-plagued Dallas Mavericks and Detroit are heading to Mexico City for what could have been a fierce matchup if key Mavericks players were available. Both teams have been struggling with their three-point shooting, but the Pistons are more likely to ignite offensively than the Mavericks, even with Klay Thompson playing 21 minutes per game for Dallas.

Game Analysis
Detroit saw a welcome boost in three-point shooting in their last game against the Orlando Magic from Duncan Robinson, Ron Holland, and Javonte Green. Robinson’s performance appears sustainable, and if defenses continue to give Holland open corner shots, he can capitalize. Green has been the surprising standout in terms of shooting; although his current numbers may not last, his effort has been commendable.
Cade Cunningham is part of the team that can change the narrative. While he isn’t shooting like Stephen Curry, he’s also not consistently a low-percentage shooter. Detroit lacks sharpshooters, but Dallas is in even worse shape in this department.
The Mavericks are one of the few teams without any players averaging more than six three-point attempts per game. On the other hand, Max Christie is the only Maverick who is hitting his shots consistently but is unlikely to maintain his current accuracy. Meanwhile, Klay Thompson, though the most experienced shooter in the game, is not performing like his former self in Dallas.
Jalen Duren’s defensive skills would have faced a significant test tonight against Anthony Davis, who is out with a calf injury, alongside other Mavericks big men who are also dealing with injuries. Duren has been impressive so far this season, and his stats are on the verge of surpassing his previous highs.
Projected Lineups
Detroit Pistons (3-2)
Cade Cunningham, Duncan Robinson, Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, Jalen Duren
Dallas Mavericks (2-3)
Cooper Flagg, Max Christie, Klay Thompson, PJ Washington, Dwight Powell
