Station Casinos Inc. will celebrate its 50th anniversary in July, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The company plans extensive summer promotions and fireworks displays throughout its properties in Southern Nevada.
What happened
Station Casinos will kick off its 50th anniversary celebrations with fireworks and drone shows scheduled for July 1 and July 4. This event marks a major milestone for the company, which operates 20 entertainment venues in the region. Frank Fertitta IV, senior vice president of operations, stated, “This milestone is truly a celebration of our guests, the locals who have supported us for generations.”
Additionally, the company will offer discounted food and beverages at all its properties. Special events include appreciation days for employees and live entertainment throughout July, featuring acts such as Grace Potter and Cole Swindell. Fertitta emphasized the company’s commitment to hospitality and value, noting, “Station remains a family-run company.”
Why it matters
The anniversary celebrations underscore Station Casinos’ deep roots in the Las Vegas community. With over 9,700 team members, the company has significantly contributed to local employment and development. Recognizing staff who have dedicated 20 years or more to the company, including some who have been with it for nearly five decades, reflects its familial culture.
Moreover, the planned volunteer efforts—1,976 hours to benefit local charities—highlight Station Casinos’ commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
Background
On July 1, 1976, Frank Fertitta Jr. opened the first Station Casinos facility, known as “The Casino,” targeting local residents. The 5,000-square-foot venue evolved into Palace Station and served as a model for future developments. Frank III took over management in 1993, steering the company to new heights by taking it public and expanding its footprint.
The opening of Boulder Station in 1994 marked a pivotal moment, leading to significant growth and additional properties. Today, Station Casinos operates widely recognized venues such as Red Rock Resort and Green Valley Ranch.
What’s next
Station Casinos’ anniversary events will take place throughout July, with live entertainment and giveaways scheduled for various dates, including July 10 and July 24. Tickets for fireworks viewing areas are already on sale for $35 for adults and $10 for children.
