At the WWDC 2025 event, while the new Liquid Glass design captured much attention, Apple didn’t delve into Apple Intelligence or discuss the absent Siri enhancements. Although Apple Intelligence wasn’t emphasized, it’s being expanded in iOS 26, featuring several new and improved functionalities.
Live Translation
Live Translation is now integrated into Messages, FaceTime, and Phone, automatically translating spoken and written conversations between users who speak different languages.
Onscreen Visual Intelligence
In iOS 26, you can utilize Visual Intelligence to engage with content on your iPhone, such as asking questions about images, product lookups, and more. Taking screenshots allows you to access new Ask and Image Search options, where you can inquire about the content seen in the screenshot.
Wallet Order Tracking
The Wallet app can now scan emails for order and tracking details, automatically adding them to your Orders section. This applies to all purchases, not just those made via Apple Pay, enhancing the overall tracking experience.
Image Playground
Apple has enhanced Image Playground, improving the quality of animated images created using built-in styles like Animation, Sketch, and Illustration. Such advancements are visible in facial features, hair texture, and overall realism in generated cartoonish images.
ChatGPT Integration
ChatGPT has been integrated into Image Playground, enabling users to leverage ChatGPT’s capabilities for image generation. A paid ChatGPT account is necessary to utilize this feature, as it involves token usage for image creation.
New Siri Features on the Horizon
Despite the lack of Siri enhancements in this version, Apple has plans to introduce new personalized features in 2026. Delays were attributed to challenges with the initial architecture, with updates expected around spring 2026, marking a promising advancement for Siri’s capabilities.
