Misano WorldSBK Test Highlights
During the opening day of testing at Misano, Nicolo Bulega set a new best lap of 1m 32.063s, securing the top position on the timesheets.
Bulega, who remains unbeaten this season, finished with a 0.249s lead over his Aruba.it Ducati teammate, Iker Lecuona.
In the afternoon, Yari Montella and Sam Lowes also improved their times, staying in third and fourth positions, respectively.
Notably, Kawasaki’s Garrett Gerloff was the sole non-Panigale rider in the top six, followed closely by Tarran Mackenzie. Bimota’s Axel Bassani took seventh place, ahead of fellow Italian Lorenzo Baldassarri.
Completing the top ten were Yamaha’s Xavi Vierge and Remy Gardner, while Michael van der Mark, representing the injury-plagued BMW team, placed 12th.
Jake Dixon’s Return
Jake Dixon made a strong comeback, finishing as the fastest Honda rider on his first day back since sustaining injuries at the Phillip Island preseason testing. He improved from 20th in the morning to 17th in the afternoon session, narrowly ahead of HRC test rider Jonathan Rea and teammate Somkiat Chantra.
Testing will continue at Misano on Thursday, building up to the next WorldSBK event in Aragon later this month, followed by the Emilia Romagna round returning to Misano from June 12-14.
