NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee: Kevin Harvick
NASCAR Hall of Fame (Charlotte, N.C.) — A driver who embodies the gritty essence of NASCAR will be welcomed alongside many others with a similar spirit already enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
Former Cup champion and current FOX Sports analyst Kevin Harvick has been named one of the three inductees for the 2027 class, recognized as a first-ballot Hall of Famer with an impressive record of 60 Cup victories.
“I’ve often heard in the NASCAR trailer that this sport will continue on with or without you,” Harvick shared with reporters after the announcement. “At the end of the day, everyone’s career has to wrap up, and to have achieved what I have makes me feel lucky. I’ve been supported by amazing people and had great moments to achieve this success.”
Harvick, along with renowned drivers Jeff Burton and Larry Phillips, will be honored at a ceremony on January 22, joining others since the Hall of Fame’s inception in 2010. Both Harvick and Burton were picked from the 10-candidate Modern Era ballot, while Phillips was chosen from the five-candidate Pioneer Era ballot.
A panel of 49 industry executives, former drivers, crew chiefs, and media members convened to vote, with an online fan vote contributing to a total of 50 votes. Harvick secured a spot on 46 ballots, with Phillips appearing on 19 and Burton on 16.
Harvick expressed gratitude upon learning he received 92 percent of the vote, stating, “Your reputation and respect really define your accomplishments, and I’m proud of that. This honor reflects back on everything I’ve achieved in my career.”
Dubbed “The Closer” for his ability to finish races strong, Harvick’s impressive career stats include 60 victories, placing him 11th all-time. Besides his wins, he also played a key role in the sport’s history, stepping in for Dale Earnhardt after the champion’s tragic passing in the 2001 Daytona 500.
