SEATTLE – Today, Justin Hollander, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Baseball Operations for the Seattle Mariners, has announced several roster changes.

40-Man Roster Status

The Mariners’ 40-man roster is now at its maximum capacity of 40 players.

Player Profile: Ortiz

Ortiz, age 26, is set to make his Major League debut. The left-handed pitcher has appeared in 15 games for Triple-A Tacoma, recording a 1.69 ERA (3 earned runs over 16 innings), along with 12 walks and 18 strikeouts, resulting in a 1.25 WHIP. He is currently ranked as the No. 26 prospect in the Mariners organization according to MLB Pipeline.

Player Background: Ortiz

Ortiz was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers on November 16, 2025, in exchange for minor league pitcher Tyler Gough. Signed as an international free agent by the Dodgers on June 2, 2017, the native of Peravia, Dominican Republic, has played seven minor league seasons within the Dodgers (2017-25) and Mariners (2026) organizations, posting a career record of 17-13 with a 3.37 ERA (95 earned runs over 254 innings), 121 walks, and 256 strikeouts across 114 games (41 of which were starts).
