No Movement in the U.S. and U.K.
The holiday weekend is nearly over, yet there have been no signs of Switch 2 pre-order inventory. Searches in both the U.S. and U.K. reveal a quiet situation on both fronts.
However, there’s still time. The launch of the Switch 2 is just around the corner, and if you’ve managed to hold off this long, a few more days shouldn’t be an issue. In the meantime, I’ll share the essential retailer links so you can check yourself.
Samsung Advocates for a Switch 2 OLED
If you share my sentiments, you’re likely disappointed that the new Switch 2 doesn’t feature an OLED display. Reports indicate that Samsung is encouraging Nintendo to integrate its OLED panels in a future iteration, according to Bloomberg.
As a major hardware collaborator, Samsung provided the OLED screens for the existing Nintendo Switch OLED, making their push for an OLED version of the Switch 2 somewhat expected.
This doesn’t assure the release of an OLED variant for the Switch 2, but Samsung’s advocacy could be promising for gamers hoping for that display.
Will the Switch 2 be Revealed on Memorial Day?
With Memorial Day here, it’s a busy shopping day, yet it’s improbable we’ll see Switch 2 pre-orders launched today. Nintendo’s official launch is slated for next week, making it unlikely for retailers to open pre-orders before that date.
Current inventory is likely being reserved for the launch events anticipated next week. I’ll keep monitoring for pre-orders today just in case something arises, but expect a largely quiet day.

It feels surreal to acknowledge that the Nintendo Switch 2 launches next week after a lengthy wait filled with rumors and anticipation.
Retailers are now getting units ahead of the June 5 launch, ramping up preparations. While no stock is available yet, we expect better chances to purchase next week, and we are actively tracking all pre-order updates; we’ll notify you of any changes prior to then.
Our Initial Experience with the Nintendo Switch 2

A few fortunate members of the TG team had the opportunity to test the Switch 2, providing promising feedback. It seems Nintendo has excelled in the system’s fundamentals, even if there’s some uncertainty regarding the new features, like the mouse mode.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long to evaluate how the Switch 2 performs once it hits the market. My excitement is indeed escalating.
Launch Day for Switch 2 – Confirmed Inventory Updates
It appears that most retailers are preparing for restocks of the Switch 2 on launch day (June 5), with a focus on in-store purchases.
Target, Best Buy, and Walmart have confirmed they will have a limited supply of Switch 2 consoles available in-store. GameStop will also offer extra consoles in-store while allowing online orders and will feature midnight launches for pre-order customers and those without a reservation.
So, if you’re eager to snag a Switch 2 as soon as possible, next week will be your best opportunity.
Switch 2 Availability in the U.K.
While availability has been scarce in the U.S., the situation in the U.K. remains surprisingly abundant. Current pre-orders are still available at Currys.
However, it’s important to note that you cannot purchase a Switch 2 as a standalone unit; instead, bundles are required, costing more than £550. Though it’s a hefty price, if your budget allows and you need accessories, these bundles can offer good value, including the console with extras like the Switch 2 Camera and a microSD Express card for increased storage.
