Donald Trump is hosting another exclusive event for his meme coin holders at Mar-a-Lago later this month. The cost to attend has significantly decreased from last year’s event.
The event team for Trump’s Solana-based token, known as TRUMP, has finalized the attendee list based on a leaderboard related to token holdings among other criteria.
In the previous event, VIPs were required to hold millions in tokens to gain elite status. This time, the cost for VIP access has decreased by about 90%, dropping from $3 million to approximately $300,000.
VIP attendees receive exclusive benefits, including a private meeting with notable figures such as Paolo Ardoino from Tether and Mike Tyson. Access is granted to the top 29 registered holders of TRUMP based on a points system from March 12 to April 14.
Comparatively, the minimum required tokens for VIP status are significantly lower than last year’s event where the highest holders had millions in assets. This year’s VIPs include addresses that had far less than in previous engagements, reflecting the current value downturn of the TRUMP token.
This year’s gathering has also received attention from lawmakers, who previously called last year’s event a potential ethics breach. Additionally, strict attendance requirements, including background checks, have been established.
