RotoWire has released its UFC Winnipeg betting picks for April 18. Take a look at predictions for a favorite, an underdog, a prop bet, and a parlay for bettors to consider this Saturday.
This Saturday, April 18, the UFC takes place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The main event features an exciting welterweight clash as Mike Malott faces Gilbert Burns.
I’ll share my predictions for UFC Winnipeg, encompassing my top pick, an underdog, a prop, and a two-fighter parlay. All UFC odds are sourced from the DraftKings Sportsbook and are accurate as of this article’s publication date.
Weight Class: Bantamweight
John Castaneda (21-8) vs. Mark Vologdin (12-4-1)
The second fight of the evening is a bantamweight matchup featuring John Castaneda and Mark Vologdin. I’m favoring Castaneda for the win.
Despite being on a two-fight losing streak, Castaneda has faced tough bantamweights, while Vologdin is making his debut in the UFC. Although Vologdin performed well on DWCS, he has faced setbacks. Castaneda’s notable six-inch reach advantage should help him deliver effective strikes and utilize wrestling to control the match, likely leading to a decision win.
UFC Winnipeg Bet: John Castaneda (-125)
Weight Class: Middleweight
Julien Leblanc (10-2) vs. Robert Valentin (10-6)
I’m selecting Julien Leblanc as my underdog pick in his UFC debut against Robert Valentin.
Leblanc comes off five consecutive wins in the regional circuit, including a victory over UFC veteran Darian Weeks. Meanwhile, Valentin has struggled in the UFC with an 0-3 record, and his performances haven’t impressed me.
Valentin is vulnerable to strikes due to issues with his striking defense. Leblanc not only has power but is also a superior grappler, likely finishing Valentin with ground-and-pound.
UFC Winnipeg Bet: Julien Leblanc (+120)
Weight Class: Bantamweight
Kyler Phillips (12-4) vs. Charles Jourdain (17-8-1)
For my prop bet, I’m taking Kyler Phillips and Charles Jourdain to go over 2.5 rounds.
Jourdain is looking to excel in his third consecutive fight at bantamweight. He’s recently earned two submission victories, but against Phillips, finishing may prove challenging.
Phillips is known for his durability, having lost all three of his UFC fights by decision, and has faced formidable finishers. With both fighters being skilled strikers, I anticipate a tactical matchup that extends over 2.5 rounds.
UFC Winnipeg Bet: Kyler Phillips & Charles Jourdain over 2.5 rounds (-188)
Weight Class: Lightweight & Women’s Flyweight
Mandel Nallo (14-3) vs. Jai Herbert (13-6-1)
Jasmine Jasudavicius (14-4) vs. Karine Silva (19-6)
For my parlay, I’m betting on Mandel Nallo and Jasmine Jasudavicius to win their respective fights.
Nallo, making his UFC debut, faces Jai Herbert, a matchup that should favor the Canadian. Nallo’s recent regional performances are strong, including five straight wins by finish. I see Nallo taking charge with his striking against Herbert, who may struggle due to lower output.
Additionally, I’m confident that Jasudavicius will overcome Silva in a crucial women’s flyweight match. Following a setback against Manon Fiorot, Jasudavicius faces a lesser opponent in Silva. Her reach advantage should help her land the more significant strikes and control the grappling exchanges, particularly since Silva has a low takedown defense rate.
UFC Winnipeg Bet: Mandel Nallo & Jasmine Jasudavicius parlay (+110)
