The Basketball Tournament is set to commence its exciting quarterfinals this weekend, with teams vying for a spot in the semifinals on July 31.
The teams that made it through are AfterShocks (Wichita State alumni), Best Virginia (West Virginia alumni), Shell Shock (Maryland alumni), Eberlein Drive, Sideline Cancer, Fail Harder, We Are D3, and Heartfire.
Two games are scheduled for Sunday, followed by two additional games on Monday.
Fail Harder vs. We Are D3 (7 p.m. ET Sunday on FS1)
Fail Harder features a strong roster, headlined by high-scoring point guard Darius Adams, who is averaging 21.3 points per game. They reached the quarterfinals by defeating the previous champions, Carmen’s Crew (Ohio State alumni), with a score of 68-62 in the last round.
Conversely, We Are D3 is scoring an average of 77.3 points per game, ranking 20th overall in the tournament, though they have the lowest field goal percentage (38.7%) among the remaining teams. Ty Nichols leads the squad with 24.7 points per game after their victory against Stars of Storrs (UConn alumni), finishing 76–68 in the last round.
AfterShocks vs. Heartfire (9 p.m. ET Sunday on FS1)
AfterShocks narrowly defeated Forever Coogs (Houston alumni) 66-63 to advance. They average 75.0 points per game, placing them 26th among all tournament teams, with a field goal percentage of 43.3%. Leading scorer Nick Sibande contributes 16 points per game alongside Marcus Keene’s 11.7 points.
Heartfire secured a thrilling 71-68 win over JHX Hoops to qualify for the quarterfinals. Marcus Hall led their scoring with 16 points, while Tevin Mack and Eric Griffin added 14 and 12 points, respectively. Their average of 80.0 points per game ranks them 10th in the tournament.
Best Virginia vs. Shell Shock (6 p.m. ET Monday on FS1)
Best Virginia comfortably defeated Elite Nation 79-68 to advance, currently averaging 77.7 points, marking them 19th overall, with a high field goal percentage of 43.5%. They are led by James Reece V, scoring 21.7 points per game.
Shell Shock averages 74.7 points per game, ranking 28th overall, and has a field goal percentage of 43.4%. They managed a 68-62 victory over NXT Era Elite to advance, relying on standout performances from former Terrapins, Diamond Stone, LG Gill, and Darryl Morsell.
Eberlein Drive vs. Sideline Cancer (8 p.m. ET Monday on FS2)
Eberlein Drive shocked the top-seeded La Familia (Kentucky alumni) in a close match, winning 71-70. Gabe York and Anthony Clemmons lead the team, with Clemmons netting the game-winning shot.
Sideline Cancer triumphed over LA Ignite with a score of 74-71. Their leading scorer, Jermaine Marrow, contributes 17 points per game, while Alonzo Verge Jr. adds 14.3 points to their impressive campaign.
